F01 / F02 / F03
Grid Voltage or Frequency Problem
These codes appear when the NEPA/PHCN grid voltage or frequency is outside the range your Deye inverter accepts. Nigeria's grid is notoriously unstable — voltage spikes above 260V or drops below 180V trigger these faults automatically as a protection measure.
This is not an inverter fault — it is the grid's fault. The inverter is protecting itself and your appliances.
✅ Fix: Wait for grid to stabilise. If it happens constantly, go to Settings → Grid → adjust the acceptable voltage range slightly wider (e.g. 170V–270V). Only do this if you have a surge protector on your critical appliances. If grid problems are persistent, consider running in "Off Grid" mode during unstable periods.

Output Overload
You are trying to power more appliances than your inverter's rated output allows. A 5kW Deye inverter cannot power more than 5,000W of load simultaneously. In Nigeria this commonly happens when someone turns on an air conditioner, electric iron, or water pump while other heavy appliances are already running.
Common culprits: Air conditioners (1,000–3,500W), electric irons (1,000–2,500W), water pumps (500–1,500W), electric kettles (1,500–3,000W).

Over Temperature — Inverter Too Hot
The inverter's internal temperature has exceeded safe limits. In Nigeria this is very common because inverters are often installed in enclosed spaces, direct sunlight, or poorly ventilated rooms. The internal fan may also be blocked or faulty.
✅ Fix: Immediately check the inverter's ventilation. There should be at least 20cm of clear space on all sides. Move it away from direct sunlight. Check that the fan on the back or side is spinning — if not, the fan may have failed. Allow the inverter to cool down (30–60 minutes) before restarting. If it overheats regularly even in good ventilation, the fan needs replacement.

Battery Voltage Too Low
The battery bank has dropped below the minimum discharge voltage set in the inverter. The inverter shuts down to protect the battery from deep discharge damage. This commonly happens overnight when the battery runs out before morning, or when the battery is degraded and can no longer hold adequate charge.
✅ Fix: Allow the battery to recharge from solar panels during the day. The inverter will automatically restart when battery voltage recovers. BMS Communication Fault
The inverter cannot communicate with your battery's Battery Management System (BMS). This is one of the most common Deye errors in Nigeria and has three main causes: wrong communication cable, wrong battery type setting in the inverter, or a counterfeit battery with a non-functional BMS.
✅ Fix Step 1: Check your RS485 communication cable — it should be firmly plugged into both the Deye inverter's BMS port and your battery's communication port.

Battery Over Temperature — Critical
The battery temperature sensor has detected dangerous overheating. This is a critical fault — an overheating lithium battery is a fire risk. The inverter shuts down immediately as a safety measure.
✅ Fix: Do NOT restart the inverter immediately. First locate the battery and check if it is physically hot to the touch. If it is extremely hot, swelling, or emitting any smell — disconnect it from the inverter and move it to an open outdoor area away from flammable materials. Battery Over Current
More current is flowing into or out of the battery than it can safely handle. This can be caused by a short circuit, wrong battery settings, a faulty BMS, or an overloaded system pulling too much power too quickly from the battery.
✅ Fix: Disconnect all loads and restart the inverter. If the fault clears, reconnect loads one by one to identify which one is causing the over-current. Check your inverter's battery charging current setting — it should not exceed your battery's rated charge current (usually printed on the battery label). Common Deye Problems Without Error Codes
Deye Inverter Not Switching to Battery When NEPA Goes
This is one of the most complained-about issues among Nigerian Deye users. The inverter stays off instead of switching to battery power when NEPA cuts.
- Check Settings → Output → Output Source Priority. Set to "SBU" (Solar → Battery → Utility) or "Battery First"
- Check that your battery voltage is above the minimum cutoff threshold
- Ensure your AC output wiring is connected to the inverter's output terminals, not bypassed
Solar Panels Not Charging the Battery
Inverter shows "No Solar" or solar input reads 0W even in bright sunlight.
- Check that your solar MC4 connectors are fully clicked into the inverter's PV input
- Measure PV voltage at the inverter terminals with a multimeter — should be above the inverter's minimum start voltage (usually 100V+)
- Check for shading on panels — even one shaded panel can reduce output of the entire string significantly
- Check the PV input fuse or circuit breaker — it may have tripped
Deye App Not Connecting / SolarmanPro Issues
The SolarmanPro app shows the inverter as offline even when it's running.
